Description
Corticotropin releasing factor (CRF), abbreviated as CRF, is one of the hormone releasing factors (RF). Through the hypothalamus-pituitary neurosecretory system secreted into the pituitary portal vein system, it directly acts on the adrenocorticotropin (ACTH) secreting cells of the pituitary, promoting the secretion of ACTH (corticotropin). There are three kinds of polypeptides, alpha 1-, alpha 2- and beta CRF.
